Horror movies from East Asian countries have recently had a massive surge in popularity. Predominantly Hong Kong,
J-Horror from Japan and K-Horror from Korea although many quality horror movies are starting to emerge from Thailand, The Phillipines, Singapore and Malaysia.
Asian Horror Movies are heavily influenced by the folk-lore and traditions of the society from which they emerge.
J-Horror tends to focus on psychological terror and the supernatural often with some deeper meaning.
K-Horror follows the same patterns but tends to be darker and more atmospheric than it's Japanese counterpart.
