Horror Extreme Blog - The House on Straw Hill

I'm not sure what to say about this movie, it was a bizarre British movie from the seventies (I think) about a paranoid writer in the middle of nowhere attempting to write a book. His previous book was a bestseller but he stole the manuscript from a friend who then committed suicide. He hires a dictation lady who seems to be very proficient at killing anyone who comes to the house and cleaning up all the evidence.

Although this was advertised on the horror channel as "The House on Straw Hill" the opening titles called it "Expose". I’m not sure I would put this in the horror genre although there was horror in it at times, there was plenty of sex, in fact it was almost pornographic, but I did find the characters quite unusual (maybe people in Britain were unusual in the seventies).

I can’t say it gripped me, but it did have its moments. The ending was quite nothing and left you with a feeling of... nothing!
