Horror Extreme Blog - Time for a Slash
Posted on: 05/29/2007
I haven't seen a good horror flick for ages. There was a couple of slasher flicks on last night so I cracked open a beer and settled in to Slumber Party Massacre then Hatchetman, and I still haven't seen a good horror flick for ages!
Slumber Party Massacre was your typical teen-chicks at a slumber party terrorised by a psycho scenario, it wasn't very gory and it wasn't very frightening. I expect if I was in the situation then it would be frightening but as I was just watching I kind of expected more.
Hatchetman was along very similar lines except this time the teens were replaced with strippers. This one was about as scary as a soap opera with the occasional murder, the storyline was more suited to a soap rather than a horror with your fair share of relationships and women problems (although as the main characters were strippers there was a plentiful amount of lady-flesh).
I need to get back to the more fantasy based horrors rather than the ones that are trying to be realistic, but I suppose as a horror blogger I need to watch all kinds!
