Horror Extreme Blog - More Troma: Bloodsucking Freaks

I'd heard a lot about this movie, I knew it was a Troma production so I thought I knew what to expect... but I didn’t. This was one sick exploitation horror movie, and it was exploitation for the sake of exploitation. It had all of the features you’d expect of a horror movie (violent death and gore, slow gory torture, cannibalism and poor acting), plus all the features you’d expect of an exploitation movie (severe mistreatment of naked women, midgets, brainwashing, white slavery and psychological torture)... it was marvellous!

I can understand why the movie was severely cut before release but apparently Troma productions released it uncut to the cinemas and ended up getting a quite hefty fine. The movie was also banned in the UK and I think it was one of the first horror movies to get an X certificate.

I thought Troma Entertainment made only the campy-comical horrors but this was truly sick (although there was an element of very dark humour running through the story).

i have seen this movie in many forms, and i believe ive seen a pretty much uncut version, i saw it first at a young age and thought it was great, but being a fan of troma for a long time, i sort of with i had seen it later so that the movies i saw from them after that, didnt seem so tame in comparison used to be a difficult one to find in australia, but its in stores everywhere here now its a favourite of anyone who likes a lot of frontal nudity with there disgustingly well planned depravity and gore
