Horror Extreme Blog - Dario Argento the Horror Master

"Suspiria" is f**king awesome. I've known for a while that it was called as a horror classic (and it was made in the same year I was!!!) but I've only just gotten around to watching it. Dario Argento definitely deserves his place among the horror masters.
A movie about witches is a bit of a rare concept in horror movies and any horror movies that I've seen previously about witches have been pretty crap so I was a bit dubious about this one. The first scene was one of the most thrilling murder scenes I think I’ve ever seen at which point I was drawn right in.
The suspense and mystery was maintained throughout and there were some nice "accidents". The ending was typical of horror movies of the time (it reminded me of Rosemary's Baby for some reason) but it put cleared up the mystery in a way which was probably quite terrifying at the time.
Apparently, "Suspiria" is the first movie in Dario Argento’s "The Three Mothers" Trilogy, with "Inferno" being the second and "The Third Mother" due for release in October of this year.
