Horror Extreme Blog - Just When You Thought You Had Seen the Best Asian Horror

I really wanted to watch "Infection" last night but it was too late and I was too drunk... so I left it until today.

The movie was advertised as "from the creators of The Ring, Grudge, and Dark Water", which were all pretty good movies so I was expecting a "pretty good" movie. I didn’t get what I expected... I got a f**king excellent movie!

It’s a horror movie set completely in a hospital where a mysterious infection is dropping patients like flies, the hospital staff want to cover it up to protect the hospitals reputation which manages to nicely contain the horror in the one location. There’s plenty of gore, the characters are deep, the momentum of the story is kept throughout the whole movie plus there’s a nice little twist at the end. Also (as often is the case with Asian Horrors) there is a lot of attention to the camera shots, colors and sound.

I really, really recommend this movie and I’m totally re-hooked on Asian Horrors!

Masayuki Ochiai is a directing genius!

Hey Jay! Horror movies are so fantastic. I'll have to watch Infection after reading your post. I've been absolutely hooked on Asian horror films these past few years (Takashi Miike is obscene!).
