'John Howard Carpenter' (born January 16, 1948) is an American film director, screenwriter, producer, composer and occasional actor. Carpenter has worked in numerous film genres, although he is currently considered one of the most accomplished and influential Hollywood maestros of the horror and science fiction genres.
