Basket Case - The tenant in room 7 is very small, very twisted and very mad.

Belial is one of the many names for The Devil. The meaning of the word in Hebrew is "worthless" and this could quite accurately describe the motivations for the anger-fuelled murder spree of Belial and his brother Duane in Henenlotter's first feature length horror movie. This also begs the question "What kind of parents call one member of a Siamese... Click to read more "Basket Case"

The Beyond - Behind this doorway lie the terrifying and unspeakable secrets of hell.

Lucio Fulci has definitely created an Italian zombie movie classic with The Beyond. This movie is much more than your traditional slow moving zombie flick and at this moment in time I would rate it as Fulci's best zombie movie. The movie begins in Louisiana, 1927, when a group of vigilantes break into the "seven doors hotel" and drag the occupant of... Bloody Moon - So Sleazy it Needs No Tagline

If you are a fan of unstylish German early-eighties retro slashers (and surely this is a dominant genetic trait nowadays) then you cannot possibly die until you have seen Jesus Franco's "almost" infamous video nasty Bloody Moon (Die Säge des Todes - "The Saw of Death") AKA Profonde Tenebre and The Bloody Moon Murders. For lovers of tasteless disco ... Click to read more "Bloody Moon"

The Boogeyman - The most terrifying nightmare of childhood is about to return!

Another movie on the "Why the hell was this classed as a Video Nasty?" list is Ulli Lommel's The Boogeyman. Admittedly The Boogeyman is a movie from 1980 and was probably quite extreme compared to UK Saturday evening TV but, compared to some of the cannibal movies and exploitation flicks on the DPP video nasty banned list, it is simply a low budget... Cannibal Apocalypse - In the jungle, or in the the city, still they must EAT!

Cannibal Apocalypse (Apocalypse domaini) is a creative cannibal addition to the DPP Video Nasty list that manages to shock without the need for jungle tribes, national geographic nakedness or cruelty to animals. What it delivers is a nice storyline about Vietnam veterans inflicted with a taste for flesh and although there is not much apocalyptical ... Cannibal Holocaust - Ripout! Barbeque! Devour! How long can you take it?

I found Cannibal Holocaust to be a seriously disturbing horror movie although I'm not sure what it was that disturbed me. It wasn't the gore, the movie was very gory but I've seen a lot worse. There was no fear element of the movie, so it wasn't that. It was very brutal but once again I've seen much more brutality in other movies. I think it was th...
