Sheer confusion (plus garbage)

A Customer Review by Doc
Richard Burton has made some damned fine movies. This is definitely not one of them. Why he let himself be connected with such a confusing script and an awful cast is totally beyond me. He must have needed the money.

Linda Blair, who did a fine job in the first Exorcist, seems, like most child actors, to get worse & worse with each film.

I found this the most confusing and pointless movie I've ever seen. Fot God's sake (or even for Satan's), give this one a miss.

2.5 Stars: What a Disappointment...

A Customer Review by The Piper at the Gates
I probably can't say much about this film that hasn't already been said, but I feel the need to at the very least state my low opinion of this film. For me being an avid horror fan, I've seen my fair share of bad sequels, but this one in particular, really disappoints me. I guess its because that The Exorcist was such a classic piece of film making, and for this film to be even related to that one, much less being a sequel, is just sad. In no way, shape or form, does this sequel even close to matching the intensity, mood, scariness, or overall storytelling of that of the original. Yes, I guess its a bit unfair to compare it so strongly with the first film, because no matter what, any sequel isn't gonna be better than of the original. But some attempt to at least equal it, would have been nice. If you're looking for scares/chills similar to the first one..forget it. This isn't even what I would consider a horror film! Looking for a decent plot? Nope...not really here. If you're looking for good acting performances..sadly enough..there's not much here either. In closing, this sequel, when compared to the greatness of the original film, could be one of the worst sequels I've ever seen. So for those who are looking for a decent follow-up to one of the scariest movies of all time..I strongly advise to stay away!!!
